Task 21 Developing Knowledge

1. I have been searching for more information concerning my topic, The Electoral College, using the search engines, Google, Proquest, Gale, and the Opposing Viewpoints Center. I found about 4 more sources that I think are credible enough to use in my paper:
www.uselectionatlas.org
www.caclean.org
www.learnnc.org
and a book posted on
www.sup.org

One dead end I found is Proquest, which is my favorite of the afore mentioned search engines, so I was disappointed that I could not find anything useful there.

Really useful Search Terms would have to be:
"Electoral College U.S."
"Changes Electoral College"
"Abolishment Electoral College"
"Electoral College History"

I think I found plenty of information about the Electoral College, and the only thing I really need help with is grammar in my Final Research Paper, I've got search engines down.

Jen,

It is odd that ProQuest was a dead end for you, I would have thought they would have had quite a bit on the Electoral College. For me, ProQuest has always been the database I have had the most luck with. CQ Researcher is the one I always hit dead ends with.

Have you found any books, periodicals, or specialized encyclopedias on your topic? Or do you mostly have websites and short articles?
If possible, I would try and find sources other than just websites in order to lend your final paper more credibility.

I'll say it again, Google Books is where I am going to search next (and hopefully finish up my search!), and it might be a good place for you to take one last quick look too.

Good luck,
Courtney

I also couldn't find too much using ProQuest! I use them for almost every research paper I write, but for some reason there wasn't much useful information on my topic. I really like your idea about google book, I'm going to steal that plan from you ;]
